A Case of Rhinolith Treated with Endoscopic Surgery

Abstract
Rhinolithiasis is an uncommon and often asymptomatic condition which may be encountered during the course of a routine examination, or noticed incidentally on radiographs. If undected for many years rhinoliths may grow large enough to cause nasal
obstruction and distortion or destruction of surrounding structures. Rhinoliths are irregular calcareous bodies, grey or brown color, found in the nasal passage, Rhinoliths usually occur unilaterally in the lower half of the nasal cavity and are
thought
to be formed by the gradual accretion of calcium and mineral salts around a nidus within the nasal lumen which may be either endogenous or origin. Recently, we experienced a case of rhinolith in the left nasal cavity and ethmoid sinus which was
removed
with endoscopic surgery in a 67-year-old female, We report a case with the review of literature.
